Micro-needling

Micro-Needling

Micro-needling is a procedure that rejuvenates and improves the appearance of the skin. It mainly targets fine lines, wrinkles, and acne scars. Micro-needling induces the production of collagen by rapidly puncturing the skin with small needles that glide smoothly across the treatment area. Skin health and appearance can be improved with this treatment as new skin grows to replace damaged skin. Results can often be seen within a short period of time.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Post- Procedure

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) can be applied to the skin after various procedures such as micro-needling, to aid in the healing process and stimulate skin regrowth. PRP is extracted by drawing blood from the patient and spinning the blood in a centrifuge to separate the growth-factor rich plasma from the remaining blood. The plasma is then applied to the face following the micro-needling procedure. The growth factors in the plasma promote wound healing and facial rejuvenation.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy for Hair Loss

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy for hair loss is a treatment that stimulates hair growth in patients dealing with various hair loss conditions. Blood is drawn in the office and spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma from the remaining blood. The highly concentrated PRP is then injected into the patient’s scalp where the platelets stimulate the stem cells and promote growth within the hair follicles. The patient’s scalp is anesthetized prior to the injection process to make it a more comfortable experience. This form of treatment for hair loss can be a beneficial non-surgical option for hair restoration.

Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is a procedure used to treat spider veins by injecting a solution into the veins which causes them to gradually disappear. By injecting a sclerosing solution, the lining of the veins become irritated and eventually turns into scar tissue that then fades away. This method is the preferred treatment for spider veins and has been used since the 1930s.

This procedure is usually performed in your doctor’s office and takes no more than an hour. Most patients need 2 to 4 treatments in order to achieve desired results. There is no downtime other than avoiding strenuous activities for the first 2 to 3 days. It often takes six to eight weeks for the blood vessels to remodel and disappear.

While sclerotherapy is proven as an effective treatment for spider veins, it is not recommended for everybody. Pregnant women and those whose saphenous veins are affected are not typically eligible for this procedure. Sclerotherapy is not effective for large varicose veins and is only recommended for smaller, superficial veins. Talk to your doctor to find out if sclerotherapy is right for you.
